CASE Consultants were commissioned by Torbay Council to undertake the structural engineering design of a new east stand and associated shared facilities for Torquay United FC and Westlands School.

The new stand was built with the financial assistance of the Football Stadia Improvement Fund (FSIF) and has been named ‘Bristow’s Bench’ in honour of benefactor Paul Bristow.

The new 1,770 seater stand replaces the previous wooden structure, and houses improved facilities for disabled supporters, replacement changing rooms and media rooms.

The new stand has increased the capacity of the stadium to over 6,000 and has greatly improved the match day experience for Gulls fans.
